Pasting long text in party chat box causes errors

It seems some text triggers this problem more than others. Sometimes there is no problem, sometimes the screen is half black (the text box is cut off by the top of the screen), sometimes the screen goes completely black (the text box is completely off the top of the screen).

this might be caused by long messages or messages with line breaks. for specific examples, if unable to reproduce, see admin email for more information.
