ANSYS installers copied over from Myriad into

/shared/ucl/apps/ANSYS/installers/2023.R1

owned by ccspapp. The install on Young needs to be done by the ccspap2 account witn is a member of lgansbru into:

/shared/ucl/apps/ANSYS/2023.R1

This has been created with permissions:

drwxr-x--- 2 ccspap2 lgansbru 4096 Dec 11 13:04 2023.R1

At about the third attempt it looks like the installation has completed. I had to do something like:

 cd /shared/ucl/apps/build_scripts/
./ANSYS-2023R1_install
cd ../ANSYS/2023.R1/
chgrp -R lgansbru *
chmod -R o-rwx *

as ccspap2. Now need to make an updated module file for Brunel.

The module file is now done and a test job submitted from ccspap2:

/home/ccspap2/Scratch/Software/ANSYS/fluent_examples/run-ANSYS-fluent-2023.R1-par-IntelMPI-80_Brunel.sh

Getting the following error when trying to check the Brunel ANSYS LM with:

$bindir/lmutil lmstat -a -c <port>@<hostname>
lmutil - Copyright (c) 1989-2015 Flexera Software LLC. All Rights Reserved.
Flexible License Manager status on Thu 12/12/2024 15:21

I've discovered a missing file in the installation on Young:

/shared/ucl/apps/ANSYS/2023.R1/shared_files/licensing/ansyslmd.ini

This exists on Myriad for example with license server details. I'll set up the equivalent file on Young tomorrow and try again.

ok:

/shared/ucl/apps/ANSYS/2023.R1/shared_files/licensing/ansyslmd.ini

now exists on Young and is set up with the Brunel LM details. It is only readable by members of the Brunel ANSYS group lgansbru. My test ANSYS Fluent job now runs successfully.

Modules required for ANSYS 2023 are:

module load brunel-modules
module load ansys/2023.r1-brunel
