Log "session iterations" and "total iterations"

This feature request is not related to any issues.

Like many I keep track of the number of session iterations and total iterations. I would like to tap into these numbers (likely best implemented via logging) to send myself a server sent event or notification.

The specific ask is to include session iterations and total iterations in the current logging capabilities.
