Hype Trails
Enable users to create personal research trails that function similar to "groups", but actually separate from collaborative annotations.
ReHype
Allow referencing of old annotations in new ones to build interconnected knowledge paths.
Nested Tagging
Allow users to create nested tags for better organization of complex topics. This could be as simple as 1 or 2 level nesting
eg: design/furniture OR design/philosophy
why
I was thinking of Hunch.ly's "Case" feature seen here .
I use groups in a similar capacity but
because it isn't a personal feature - the groups I make for personal use get mixed with actual collaborative groups (and the dropdown starts needing a search bar) - (hence Hype Trails)
by being unable to link/reference old annotations in new ones - the only available view is a linear timestream or tagged together. By directly linking to or referencing older annotations, we can get a specificity of navigation not available through the above methods and allow for jumps through the timestream that can be semi-curated by reply to each annotation in the jump. (Hence ReHype)
and nested tags are so good for everything sorry this must be highly requested.
