Shift+tab not working in code window

VS Code just updated to 1.96.2 (I think I was on 1.96.0 or 1.96.1 prior to this) and said it was going to be using CoPilot. I noticed 3 things went wrong right away, 2 minor ones, 1 big one:
Minor:

1. The Python icon in the terminal kept throwing up a ! warning
2. My Theme got messed up, and I'm not sure why. The colors all became extra dim. But when I checked the theme being used it was the same one. That might be a very edge case issue.

Major:
I can't use shift+tab to move back a tab position. For instance I finished an 'if' block and wanted to start the 'else' block.
Result: Every time I hit 'enter' for a new line and then 'shift+tab' to move back the position, it keeps going to the previous LINE.
Tried: Restarted multiple times, minimum of 4 times.
