Brightness setting doesn't affect brightness when using AA Wifi?

Hi,
I'm trying to use AA Wifi, and I'm struggling with getting brightness to be applied correctly. When running AA in Wifi mode, it doesn't appear to have different brightness, regardless of the setting I choose.

I also tried using the light sensor service, which applies brightness correctly depending on the measured lux in the crankshaft ng screen, but not when AA is running in Wifi mode either.

Can you help me in finding out which settings I need to apply to make the brightness be applied correctly?
