One further piece of information: if the light is on, and the switch has turned back to OFF in Homekit, it seems that if I go into Accessory details and even just look at the settings without changing anything then the switch will remain in the ON position with the light being ON. |

This switch has been installed for two years and working well via the native Kasa app and Alexa. I am now changing over to Homekit and have it appearing in my Homekit app via Homebridge. I have a Homepod Mini set up and all seems to be working fine. Here is the issue: the switch seems to be in a 'toggle' mode in Homekit. So when the light is off, the switch is off. If I turn on the switch in Homekit then the light turns on. In a few seconds the switch in Homekit then moves automatically to the off position, shows off in application, but the light is still on. Then to turn it OFF, I need to go in and turn the switch to ON. At this point the light will turn off and switch position will be in ON position. After a few seconds the Homekit switch will automatically move to OFF. For example, I have a scene that runs "Light Off" for this light. However, since the switch is seen as off in Homekit (while light is on) I set the scene to turn the switch on. It then switches on in Homekit but the light now turns off. In a few seconds the switch then returns to off in HomeKit. So basically I cannot tell status of light in HomeKit. It is always showing off. I can turn it off or on via the app but regardless of status of the light itself the switch in Homekit returns to off. Can anyone explain what the issue might be? Although I can set scenes to now turn it on and off I would like to be able to look at the app and tell whether the light is truly on or off which I can not do at this point. I have several other Kasa switches (single, dimmer) all that are working well. And in the Homekit app I have the Kasa 3-way to Display As Light. Thanks for any help.
