Banner animation disrupting the user experience? #2078
Comments
since 7cc72f6 it should be possible to dismiss the banner for 14 days. That functionality should be in 0.15.3 and newer versions. |
ah, right you are. Now I recall that we discussed refactoring the two banners to allow both to be dismissable, but never got around to it yet :( sorry. If you felt like taking a swing at it, feel free! |
Hey @maximlt, to be clear:
Do you mean that the animation (i.e., the banner appearing after loading the page) itself is the jarring one? Or that this cannot be dismissed like the version banner. |
to me the animation is a problem. t makes the banner very visible the first time but when you are exploring the documentation it's disturbing to se it moving all the time. Ideally it should appear on the first page you load on the website and stay where it is (without animation) when you navigate. |
Yes I also find the animation disturbing. Making the banner dismissible would be a nice feature. Though, at the moment, I might dismiss it more because I find the animation annoying, instead of dismissing it because I've read the announcement. |
Hi all, on the current site I find the banner animation on every page to be a bit disturbing when browsing quickly from one page to another. Opening this issue to see if it's just disturbing me or if others share the same feeling 🙃 .
