It would be useful if epubcheck could be run as a microservice. This would be possible if there had been a REST API, as well as a Docker image.

A docker image was requested in #1127.

I agree a REST API would be very nice, although it is out of scope at the moment due to limited development resources. It could be developed as a separate project. Contributions are always welcome 😊.
