๐Ÿ“– About me

I am open source contributor and I am keen on administrating, scripting, creating sites and presentations. Itโ€™s my life. I like to automate routine tasks and not to do them manually. Currently I have the skills mentioned below (just the most interesting tools are mentioned and some of their usages are explained).

๐Ÿ’ป Programming, markup and configuration languages

All code is mainly written in Visual Studio Code (๐Ÿ’ฌ), versioned by Git VCS and located here.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Developing CLI, TUI and GUI applications

These languages are used to build standalone applications or libraries which should not be run inside some editor like GIMP or Google Slides. I'm mainly focused on these programming languages and know them better than others, my knowledge is validated by other contributors.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Developing macros and libraries

These languages are utilized to build scripts or libraries which must be run inside some editor like GIMP or Google Slides. As I use these languages quite rarely I may not know them so well as previous ones and thus don't contribute to any projects where these languages are the primary ones.

Language Links How often do I use it?
JavaScript ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2/5
TinyScheme ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ–Š๏ธ 1/5

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Configuration languages for applications

These languages are used to make configurations for applications or libraries. I mainly use them for Go and other languages in the same category.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Vector image drawing and animating them

Currently I'm transferring from Google Slides to Inkscape. For animating something I'm planning to use Glaxnimate as it seems a robust choice for me. On mobile devices I use all-in-one solution which is VectorMotion.

๐Ÿ’ญ Likely it would be nice to have one program for drawing vector graphics and animating it. However, maybe it's the best case when there are separate tools for specific tasks as they focused more on what they are doing instead providing more things with less features like VectorMotion does.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Creating presentations

Primarily I utilize PowerPoint program for editing presentations, however when it's faster to modify existing Google Slides presentation without porting it to aforementioned tool, I use Google Slides. The last one is used on my own machine dedicated mainly for programming.

๐Ÿ’ญ I would love to use OnlyOffice instead of PowerPoint as it's more cross-platform than PowerPoint, however on Linux the aforementioned one is unstable. And besides the a claimed compatibility with PowerPoint presentations made in OnlyOffice may not always be rendered correctly in PowerPoint.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Creating videos

I make videos quite rarely, so there is almost nothing I can tell you about video editors. But when I do I utilize Kdenlive on my own laptop and Vita on my mobile devices.

๐Ÿ’ญ If Kdenlive worked on mobile devices I would rather use it instead of mastering several editors (well, learning them, mastering is quiet bold term here).

๐Ÿ““ Placeholder syntax in my CLI tools

Starting from 21 August 2024 I use the following placeholder syntax in all my tools (Go-inspired):

  • {{placeholder}}: some arbitrary text with no constraints implied which should be exactly one CLI argument.
  • {{placeholder ...}}: almost the same thing as the previous one, but here zero or more arguments are expected.
  • | can be used inside double curly braces to provide more than one alternative for what can be placed instead of placeholder.

, where instead of placeholder any text can be written which explains what should be put instead of CLI argument(s), but without spaces unless it's explicitly permitted. This syntax is used just when no other default syntax is mandated.

Examples:

command {{number}} # 1 number expected
command {{number..}} # 0 or more numbers expected
command {{number|strings...}} # one number or 0 or more string expected
