Presenters can say No and the video will not be posted to the public. Presenters can change their mind at any time (basically) - like Yes now and later No in which case the video will be removed from the public.

Details:

The Veyepar processing system has a "Released" field that is set based on the conference system's data. It is up to the conference organizers to determine what data to send. There have been events where release forms were signed with ink on paper, and events where the conference organizer said "Post everything, I'm sure it's fine." Often the talk submission form has a checkbox, which typically defaults to Yes.

Assume the recording system records everything, all day long. It can be turned off, but this causes "missing files" alerts.

It is preferable to record everything, produce and post the final videos. The difficult part of the process is preparing and setting up the equipment. If someone does not want the final video posted, that is a little more work to ensure that request is granted. But we will try and likely succeed.

The default process:

Record all the talk and post online. Send the presenter and selected reviewer(s) an e-mail with a URL that is not public (it does not show up in search results.) This gives time to watch it and look for problems (both technical and content.) Once someone approves it, it will be made public.

What the Veyepar released data means:

Yes : Permission has been given to record your talk and post it online. The above default process.

No: You have requested for the video not to be released. This request will be honored. However the a video may be produced and available for review in case you change your mind. If you need to be absolutely sure, at the event you can ask to have the camera turned off.

None: Permission to publish a video of this talk is unknown. This means it may get recorded and processed, but it will not be made public and we will send another email asking for permission. Presenters, please notify the conference organizer stating your preference.
